Dulcio' Story
We found Dulcio on August 17th, 2003 in a park in Ohrid, Macedonia while traveling on our world trip. He was maybe two or three weeks old, his eyes were closed with dirt and his nose was bleeding. He had clearly been abandoned there. We could not leave him there to die, which would have happened within a day, given the summertime heat.
We picked him up, brought him to our room, where we cleaned out his eyes and fed him some milk. The next day we went to a vet to arrange a "cat passport". This vet thought he was a she, but later he turned out to be a he.
He then traveled with us for nearly 3 months, from Macedonia all the way to Estonia and later to Holland. In these short months he traveled with us through 13 European countries and stayed in 10 different "homes".
We had only taken care of him in order to save his life, but we grew to love him a lot. Whenever we returned "home", he would be waiting for us and greet us with a lot of meowing, as soon as we took him in our arms he would start to purr. He played endlessly, was very inquisitive and enjoyed life a lot.
Because our travels would be taking us to South America, it became impossible to take him along, we had to find an adoption family. As of November 8th, 2003 he is living in Elim, The Netherlands, with my former boss Jasper, his wife Alexa, 23 other cats, 2 dogs and 1 parrot!
We miss him a lot!
