A US Presidential election is always an eagerly awaited moment by many people in the United States and around the world. It is held in years divisible by four on the Tuesday that follows the first Monday in November. So the 2008 election was held on November 4th and the 2012 election will be held on November 6th.
The inauguration of a newly elected president, takes place at noon on January 20th of the following year. Hence the winner of the 2008 election was inaugurated on January 20th, 2009 at 12:00 pm EST (which is the GMT-5 timezone).
With the default settings below you can see the time that is left until 8 p.m. EST (20:00 GMT-5) on Election Day 2012 when the 44th President of the United States will be either re-elected or replaced by a challenger. Two other predefined settings are available: those for the 2010 midterm election when control of congress will be up for grabs again and those for Inauguration Day 2013 when the winner of the 2012 Presidential election will be inaugurated and the current presidential term will expire.
This site has absolutely nothing to do with politics and I want it to remain that way. The clock is made available to all regardless of their political affiliation, the fact that someone uses this clock cannot be construed to imply any form of endorsement on my part. I sincerely hope that people on both sides will enjoy using my software.
Change the title to suit your own specific political prejudice, hit the Generate Pop-up button for the pop-up code, or the Generate Framed button if you want it visible on your page, then copy and paste the resulting code into your webpage or blog and let the fun begin...
