Getting someone to start using Firefox is often only the first step. Many first time and new users do not know how much they can actually do with Firefox. Of course it is impossible to show them everything, but we can try to show them a few things and point them in the direction for finding even more. That is in essence what the Fire up the Fox! project is trying to do.
You can help the project by adding a link, button or banner on your site or blog, you can even get Spread Firefox points for it (see: details below). On this page we provide an easy tool to create such a link, button or banner.
More details and credits at the end of this page.
Send people who are already using Firefox to the Fire up the Fox! page, it helps them get more out of their browser and get more involved with Firefox thus hopefully entrenching their use of Firefox. We also offer a dynamic buttons and banners generator that can help you set up banner that shows non-Firefox users a GetFirefox button and Firefox users a Fire up the Fox! button.
Sending users to Fire up the Fox! can earn you SpreadFirefox points (which may get you listed in the top-250 weekly Firefox affiliates and drive traffic to your site). How does this work? Fire up the Fox! contains links to a selection of resources, a few of these links will generate SpreadFirefox points for you. One is a download button for Firefox that is shown to non-Firefox users only. The others are a Get Thunderbird link and a link to join SpreadFirefox.
Although the Fire up the Fox page is aimed at Firefox users, you can also send users of other browsers to the page. Those people will see a notice at the top of the page telling them that they need to upgrade to Firefox to benefit from the resources on the page, with download button provided.
And finally if you are planning to send a lot of traffic (thousands daily) to the Fire up the Fox! page, please contact us first (see e-mail below).
